Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is famous Indian actress, known for parts in the film Hum Aapke Koun. The actress began her career in the 80s before coming to prominence with her performance in Tezaab, a film in which she was a part of the cast with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In the following film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared as well. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance at an early age. At the age of 15, she started acting but struggled as many films she made were not successful. Then she found her feet and was one of the most prominent actresses in the Indian film business. Following her marriage she had a break in her career before re-entering the film industry. In recent years, Dixit was a key player as a character in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated 15 times for Filmfare Awards. She won eight of the awards. Padma Shri - the fourth most highly regarded civilian award in India is awarded to Dixit. Also, she is well known for her charitable works.
