Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. The couple relocated to Oxfordshire when she was five where she attended at the Dragon School. Emma always had the desire to become an actor when she was just aged six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute with part-time courses. By the age of ten she was performing and taking the lead in various Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the movie version from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for the very first time back in the year 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been picked for these parts. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's film debut came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). This film was 2001's highest earning film, smashing records on opening day as well as the first weekend. The film was praised by critics and its performances by the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's performances "amazing". Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for an Feature Film.
